Case Study: Preserving Natural Habitat and Wildlife:

Goal: Minimize impact and retain the native values

Challenge: Careless development of forest land

Solution:In order to prevent destruction of the natural environment, each site was ‘hand selected’ based on survey of land forms, vegetation, soils, slopes, and species habitat, which in turn helped eliminate wanton destruction of the environment.  Roads were also carefully sited to minimize impacts to flora and fauna, which saved costs and the natural setting.

Outcome: Development costs were greatly reduced. Close control during development and construction, and tight residential restrictions allowed development to move-in with rather than move-in on the forest neighborhood. From the commercial stand-point, buyers were able to choose these unique, special settings over plundered settings. Cost savings from minimal impacts far overcome whatever loss of density that may have occurred.
